Virat Kohli and bowlers star as India crush Bangladesh by 7 wickets
Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first
First Innings:
Bangladesh get off to a solid start: Bangladesh got off to a solid start courtesy their openers Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das as they put on 93 runs for the first wicket. But why did they start well? The pitch was a belter and the ball was coming onto the bat nicely which led to easy runscoring.

Kuldeep Yadav strikes for India: Kuldeep Yadav provided the first wicket for India as he dismissed Tanzid Hasan for 51 runs. But why did Tanzid lose his wicket after playing so well? He missed a straight ball from Kuldeep to be LBW as the score moved to 93/1.

Bangladesh suffer a collapse: After losing Tanazid Hasan for 51 runs, Bangladesh suffered a collapse as they lost 3 wickets in quick succession as 93/1 became 137/4 in no time. But why did Bangladesh collapse? Lack of strike rotation and poor shot selection were the primary reasons for this. Bangladesh batters were not picking the spinners and Ravindra Jadeja took full advantage of that and dismissed Litton Das and Najmul Shanto (Bangladesh Captain in this game) in quick succession.

KL Rahul also took a blinder down the leg side as Siraj dismissed Miraz to get his first wicket of the game.

Towhid Hridoy and Mushfiqur Rahim rebuild: After losing three quick wickets, Towhid Hridoy and Mushfiqur Rahim started to rebuild as they shared a 42 run stand for the fifth wicket. But why was Bangladesh able to rebuild? Rahim was the reason behind it. He mixed caution with aggression nicely and kept the scoreboard moving for Bangladesh as they moved to 179/4.

Shardul Thakur and Jasprit Bumrah strike for India: India’s man with the “Golden Arm” Shardul Thakur and “Yorker King” Jasprit Bumrah provided the breakthroughs as they dismissed Hridoy and Mushfiqur Rahim in quick succession. But why did they get out? Again as mentioned above, lack of strike rotation was the reason for Hridoy’s downfall which caused a false shot from him while Rahim’s dismissal for 38 runs was unlucky as he cut a short ball straight to Jadeja as 179/4 soon became 201/6.

Mahmudullah and Nasum Ahmed add useful runs: Mahmudullah and Nasum Ahmed added useful runs in the lower order to take Bangladesh to a respectable total. But why was the lower order able to resist? On a flat pitch, both the batters started to attack the bowling and added handy runs towards the end of the innings. Mahmudullah was eventually dismissed by Bumrah for 46 while Siraj dismissed Nasum for 14 as Bangladesh finished with 256/8 in their 50 overs.

Second Innings:
India get off to a solid start: Just like Bangladesh, India also got off to a flying start as the openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill added 88 runs for the first wicket. But why did India start well? As mentioned above, the ball was coming onto the bat nicely which led to easy runscoring.

Hasan Mahmud strikes for Bangladesh: Hasan Mahmud struck for Bangladesh as he dismissed Rohit Sharma for 48 runs. But why did Rohit lose his wicket? Well, as they say, “You Live By The Sword And You Die By It”. Again, the pull shot caused Rohit’s downfall as the score moved to 88/1.

Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill continue the momentum: Even after losing Rohit for 48, both Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill continued the momentum as they shared a 44 run stand for the second wicket. But why was India able to attack? Intent was the difference between the two sides. Bangladesh lacked the intent to score while India continued to score quickly as the score moved to 132/1.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz strikes for Bangladesh: Mehidy Hasan Miraz provided the second wicket for Bangladesh as he dismissed Shubman Gill for 53 runs. But why did Gill lose his wicket? As mentioned above, with an intent to attack the bowling Gill holed out to deep mid wicket, as India lost it’s second wicket with 132 runs on the board.
Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer take India forward: After losing Gill for 53 runs, Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli took India forward with a 46 run stand as the score moved to 178/2. Again, Indian batters took full advantage of the good batting conditions to keep the scoreboard moving.
Mehidy Miraz strikes again: Mehidy Hasan Miraz struck again as he dismissed Iyer for 19 runs. But why did Iyer throw his wicket away? Keeping the Net Run Rate in mind, India wanted to finish the match early. So, while attacking the spinner, Iyer lost his wicket as the score moved to 178/3.

As seen from the above analysis, it was again a complete performance from India while Bangladesh let go off an opportunity to put pressure on India after their openers got them off to a flier. They have a lot to think about going forward.
